Parents standing by examinees’ rights

The Alliance of Parents of Nursing Board Exam 2006 Students deeply appreciates the fair treatment your website has given our cause for “no retake.”

However, we wish to inform the public through your website that a retake is tantamount to a summary execution and a miscarriage of justice and violation of a person's rights. Those who passed the exam, who had sacrificed and studied well, must not be punished.

The National Bureau of Investigation and the Senate are doing investigations. The victims, our children, are made to pay a debt they never owed.

To make them retake the exam is for us, parents, a gross violation of moral values. We must not allow them to retake the exam, as a matter of standing by their rights.

To push them into admitting that they must retake the exam is to ask them to plead guilty.

We appeal to the government and the courts. We fully trust their competence and probity. We hope they trust the schools where our nursing graduates got their diplomas.

To call for a retake is to exercise a privilege. Our dissent and our call for “no retake” is a matter of right.
